Introduction

The Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights Department is responsible to deal with variety of important constitutions, Legal and Administrative functions under the rules of the business. It is mandated to provide administrative support to its Attach Departments/Special Institutions and also responsible to manage all parliamentary business of the Government including Legislative Drafting. Moreover the Law Department is obligated to conduct all litigation and furnish legal opinion/advice when required by different departments and agencies of the Government. The Law Department is also assigned with task of vetting of contracts, MoU’s and agreements etc., on behalf of the President. The Human Rights Wing has also been established in Law department and existing staff is assigned additional duties to run the functions of Human Rights issues since 2005.
